Our Story
Once Upon a time
Borsu Highson Productions was founded in 2025 in Bleckede, Lower Saxony, Germany — but its story stretches back much further. The company’s origins lie in Borsu Film Studios, established in Los Angeles in 2004 with the support of Roy E. Disney, Martin Katz, and producer Tom Moody.
From its early dedication to preserving the legacy of hand-drawn animation, Borsu Film Studios went on to produce high-budget animated features for MovieVentures in association with Walt Disney Motion Picture Studios, as well as international television, documentary, and advertising projects.
Today, Borsu Highson Productions continues that tradition while branching into new frontiers: the award-winning feature The Mad King, the development of the Little Peterman character universe, and documentary series exploring the craft of film and animation. The studio also restores lost Disney productions from original Super 16mm and 35mm prints and supports mid-sized organizations near Hamburg with creative content and marketing strategies.
Our docu-series Animating Robin Williams: How Eric Goldberg Achieved a Timeless Masterpiece premiered on the borsu.animation channel in September 2025. The channel releases restored gems and original productions twice a week, connecting audiences worldwide to the timeless art of cinema and animation.
